On the evening of October 27, 2025, the "Gathering in Jiujiang, Connecting the World through Tennis" WTA2025 Jiangxi Tennis Open, co-hosted by the People's Government of Jiangxi Province and the China Tennis Association, and organized by the Jiangxi Provincial Sports Bureau and the People's Government of Jiujiang City, was grandly opened at the Jiujiang International Tennis Center. Zhang Songtao, Deputy Director of the Jiangxi Provincial Sports Bureau, Du Shaohua, Vice Mayor of the People's Government of Jiujiang City, Xiong Jianhua, WTA Tournament Director Representative and APG President, Fang Zhongsheng, Deputy Secretary General of the People's Government of Jiujiang City, Shen Hongbin, Joint Tournament Director and Chairman of Jiangxi Sports Development Co., Ltd., Eva Slaninkova, Joint Tournament Director, as well as player representatives Zhu Lin and Christina Mladenovic, jointly attended the opening ceremony.
At 18:00 that evening, the opening ceremony kicked off amid the solemn national anthem. Volunteers and caddies entered the venue holding the flags of participating countries and regions, as well as the Jiangxi Tennis Association flag, highlighting the strong international atmosphere of the event. Zhang Songtao announced the official start of the 2025 Jiangxi Tennis Open and officially handed over the flag to Deputy Mayor Du Shaohua, symbolizing the full launch of the event hosting work. The player representatives jointly kicked off the match, pushing the atmosphere on site to a climax.
As an international professional tennis tournament at the WTA250 level, the 2025 Jiangxi Open is the "final showdown" of the WTA China season, with a total prize fund of up to $267,000 and 250 points for the champion. This edition of the tournament has attracted over 200 players from more than 30 countries and regions worldwide, marking the largest field in history.
