The 2025 WTA Jiangxi Open remains as thrilling as ever, and beneath the court, the stories of protection by 102 volunteers from Jiujiang University are constantly being updated. In this issue, we will focus on the Volunteer Department, Competition Department (Caddie), Venue Operation Department, Market Development Department, and Logistics Support Department, and listen to these "behind-the-scenes heroes" as they write the chapter of their youth with dedication.


[Volunteer Department: The "Volunteer of Volunteers" Coordinating the Overall Situation]


"Enthusiastic, dedicated, comprehensive" - Zhou Mingjun, the representative of the volunteer department, accurately summarized his work with these three words. "Enthusiastic" refers to the enthusiasm in service, "dedicated" means going all out, and "comprehensive" denotes the comprehensiveness and breadth of affairs. They are responsible for coordinating all volunteers to travel safely and punctually between the school and the venue, serving as the "central nervous system" that ensures the smooth operation of the entire volunteer system.
When talking about the moment that tested his ability to respond to emergencies the most, he recalled, "After a competition, we needed to arrange for the safe return of more than 300 spectators and a large number of volunteers to school at the same time. With such a large number of people, how to efficiently and orderly complete the dispatching task greatly tested our coordination and arrangement abilities." The strength of the team was reflected in the sincere words of "you've worked hard" after a busy day. "This simple encouragement gave us great warmth in our hearts and the strength to move forward."


[Competition Department (Caddie): The "Silent Guardian" on the Course]


"Serving the players and prioritizing the players, to make the game go faster and better." This is the working creed shared by caddie representatives Qiu Yafang and Luo Tang. In their view, this is not just a service, but also a valuable learning opportunity. "We can observe professional players up close and feel their personal charm and on-court demeanor," said Qiu Yafang. Luo Tang, on the other hand, pays more attention to the players' mentality: "We can learn how they adjust their mindset to continue playing when they are ahead or behind."
Efficient play relies heavily on their silent understanding. "We communicate through gestures," Luo Tang explained in detail, "such as opening our palms to indicate that there is no ball to pass, and quickly and smoothly rolling the ball to our teammates when passing." With precise movements and focused gazes, they become another captivating sight on the field.


[Venue Operations Department: The "Guardian" of Order and Safety]


"Perseverance" is the key word given by Pi Ke, the security representative of the venue operation department. His department is mainly responsible for coordinating with security personnel to maintain order on site and patrol various security points. "This job requires sustained high concentration at the post to ensure absolute safety." Behind these two simple words lies a heavy responsibility and dedication.


[Market Development Department: The "Bridge Builder" for Event Cooperation]


"Enrichment, growth, youth" - these three words define the volunteer service of Zhu Tong, a business attraction representative from the Market Development Department. She is responsible for liaising with sponsors, organizing and implementing various rights and interests, and serving as an important link between the event and market forces.
"I not only witnessed the perseverance of the athletes and gained a lot from it; on the work level, practical skills such as communication, exchange, summarization, and reporting also enabled me to grow rapidly." She also drew abundant youthful energy from behind-the-scenes support.


[Logistics Support Department (VIP Reception): A Thoughtful and Attentive "Front Desk Sentinel"]

Yi Jiaxin from the Logistics Support Department, who was responsible for VIP reception, described this experience as "happy, friendly, and passionate". The happiness came from the work itself, the friendliness from the team atmosphere, and the passion from the competition venue. "Especially when the players presented balls to the audience, the exciting atmosphere in the stadium was unforgettable."
This job is extremely challenging. "The movements and thoughts of the leaders are often uncertain, and we need to be ready to respond to changes at any time. This is a great test of our adaptability." The photos she most reluctant to delete from her phone are those from the first day when she arranged the VIP room. "That day, the sun was shining brightly, and everyone worked together efficiently, completing the task quickly. That was my initial memory of our efficient and friendly team, which is particularly precious."


From overall coordination to on-site bustling, from order maintenance to business docking, and then to meticulous VIP reception, volunteers from Jiujiang University have jointly woven a safe, efficient, and warm operational network for the 2025 Jiangxi Open at different latitudes and longitudes. Their perseverance, growth, and laughter are the most vivid footnotes to this event.
